Dillon is in the heart of Summit County Colorado, and is within about 30 miles of seven major ski resorts. Keystone is the closest (about five miles), and Breckenridge and Copper Mountain are each about 10 miles. Also nearby are Loveland, Arapaho Basin, Vail, and Beaver Creek. A large discount shopping mall is located nearby (about one mile) in Silverthorne, where there is also good grocery (City Market) and department store (Target) shopping. Free Summit County Stage buses run regularly and connect to local ski areas.

Orofino Resort Dillon has three outdoor hot tubs available for after-ski relaxation. Ski storage closets are provided at each condo.
